Martin Brudnizki is not a designer given to restraint. Through his internationally celebrated firm Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS) he has made a case for layering and maximalism as something disciplined rather than indulgent: restaurants, hotels and residential projects filled with exuberant colour, historic reference and rich materiality that are, on closer inspection, meticulously judged. It is a balance that has carried him through some of the most talked about interiors of the age, from the jewel-box drama of Annabel's to The Ivy and Soho House.

From Annabel's to Scott's, Soho House to The Beekman Hotel, Martin Brudnizki has pioneered commercial interiors for 20 years. He built his studio, MBDS, on a simple conviction: interiors are about creating experiences, with every detail designed to transport us to the world he's making. In this course he shares the thinking behind that work: the four pillars he designs by, the narrative that anchors a project, the psychology of how people move through a room, and the details of colour, lighting and dimension. Filmed at his country home, the MBDS studio, the Dorchester and the Broadwick Hotel, it is a rare insight into a designer who redefined how an industry thinks about atmosphere and joy.
