Get to know your instructors a little better, as both Melissa and Amy reflect on their creative careers to date and speak about the paths they both took into flower pressing.
A dynamic duo within the industry, JamJar Flowers Founder Melissa Richardson and Creative Director Amy Fielding are known for their beautifully delicate and nostalgically pared-back approach to floristry.
Melissa Richardson founded JamJar Flowers in 2009 from her kitchen table, after running a successful modelling agency for almost three decades. She was joined by Amy Fielding in 2014, and they both went on to co-found a sister business in 2017, JamJar Edit.
Based in Kennington, London, the JamJar studio is abuzz with creativity and inspiration. Melissa's extensive knowledge of the history of flower pressing, alongside her talent for seasonal floristry pairs perfectly with Amy's artistic background and keen eye for aesthetics - and together, they share a passion for communicating and showcasing the natural beauty of flowers.
The world of JamJar Flowers is now extensive, encompassing installations for fashion brands, commissions from high-end restaurants, a 'Flower School' teaching floristry skills and workshops, as well as JamJar Edit; an online destination for all things flower pressing and a one-stop shop for botanical inspired gifts.

Renowned florists and flower pressing studio specialising in unique nature-inspired homewares.
JamJar Edit is a seasonally led floral design studio with an online edit of artwork and curated homewares. Inspired by the Sussex garden and woods that surrounded her childhood home, JamJar Flowers was founded by Melissa Richardson in 2009, with her signature style reflecting the simple charm of seasonal British flowers artfully arranged in jam jars. From these uncomplicated beginnings, JamJar Flowers has become one of London's leading florists. Melissa went on to create JamJar Edit with co-founder Amy Fielding in 2017; beginning as an eclectic collection of botanically inspired homewares and now an innovative design studio specialising in creating pressed flower artworks, from single stem framed pieces and private commissions, to ambitious installations and exhibitions. Their book, The Modern Flower Press, is the go-to-guide for pressing flowers in the 21st century.
