Part 2: Schematic Stage

This is the point where you can start bringing together furniture that will bring your concept to life.

Start by creating a furniture plan

A furniture plan is a document that shows a roughly-to-scale representation of what furniture you intend to have in a room, and where it will go.

If you don't have the capabilities to do a CAD (computer-aided design) drawing, a normal pen and paper is still a great way to create a furniture plan.

A furniture plan should include:

• Sizes and measurements of chosen furniture
• The intended placement of every item
• Images of furniture, so you can check that everything works visually.

I'll talk through how I created the furniture plan for the living room at Hope Hill in the 'Room layout and furniture planning' lesson later on in the course.
