Project 1- An Unlined Rod Pocket Curtain - Part 3

Now for the exciting part, hanging your completed curtain!

Step Eight

Install the appropriate hardware.

  • You can either position the pole on the underside of your counter, or on the edge - it's totally up to you and what works in your space.
  • Wherever it is, ensure that it gives adequate coverage to whatever will be behind your curtain; you don't want gaps on either side.
  • You can find a list of recommended hardware suppliers in the 'Equipment guide and recommendations' section of this workbook.

Step Nine

Hang your curtain.

  • Slide the curtain onto the rod by threading it through the pocket you've created. Ensure the seams are on the back of the curtain.
  • Spread it out so that the pleats are evenly spaced.
  • Finally, give your curtain a quick steam, working up and down across the width of the curtain.
