The kitchen is the heart of every home. 2LG talk you through their kitchen, illustrating how to use texture to create a kitchen that is both fun and functional.

Lesson Summary

• Jordan and Russell wanted everything to be handleless.
• They've added a layer of texture with the Moroccan Del Zellige tile wall.
• The tiles are hand cut out of glazed terracotta and cut by hand.
• The edges of the tile were mitred.
• A composite 'Cloud Burst' kitchen countertop was used.
• They've added a mirrored kickboard, helping to give the illusion that the island is floating.
• They've contrasted a brushed gold tap with a stainless steel sink.
• The dimmer light switch allows for flexibility within the kitchen.
• They've opted for a window seat in the kitchen with a storage compartment underneath.
• They've placed a power socket on the side of an island.
• They wanted their kitchen to feel like freestanding pieces of furniture so have gaps on either side.
• The ceilings were painted in the same colour as the walls but in gloss paint.
• The radiators have been powder coated in the same colour as the wall.

• The chopping boards were designed out of recycled waste material in collaboration with Savernake.
