Mixing Patterns and Textures
It is important to be bold when mixing colours and patterns. Choose colours that complement each other. As long as they have the same base colour and are broadly similar, that is fine.
Order Samples
A key step is ordering samples. To really understand the texture, colour, and feel of a material, you need to interact with it physically and engage with them.
Your Assignment
Explore a variety of patterned, printed, and textured fabrics or different weights and weaves. Get ordering these samples so that you can physically interact and engage with them. This will allow you to get a better understanding of how they will fit in to your home.
