Finding Inspiration: The Clothes Store

Clothing stores combine colours and patterns in ways you may be able to use in your home. When it comes to colour, it's really important to analyse how you feel. Black and white can really ground a space when paired with other colours.

You can add colour and texture to your bathroom by adding patterned towels. Everywhere you look in a clothes store, there are colours and patterns that you can adapt and pair with your own home decor.

Your Assignment

Go to a clothes store you love and really interact with the clothes. Begin to think about what it is that you like about the clothes and ask yourself the following questions.

  • Is it the bright bold pattern?
  • Do you like tiny ditzy fabrics and patterns?
  • The classic cut of the clothing?
  • Begin to analyse how you feel
  • Do loads of bright colours make you feel happy?

Make sure to take pictures of your favourite colour and texture combinations so you can refer back to them later.
