Part 3: Aconites and Snowdrops
These small flowers - aconites, snowdrops and cyclamens - growing under an old chestnut tree will brighten any room in winter months. We love digging them up for decorative pots indoors and we replant them in the ground after their flowers are gone.
Aconites, tiny yellow plants with attractively shaped flowers, are the first to appear soon after Christmas and look good potted in shallow china dishes.
'There are actually over 1000 cultivars of snowdrops! One of our favourites is 'Sam Arnott', which is larger than the common Galanthus nivalis and also has an incredible scent. They can be brought indoors in a clump of soil and later divided to multiply in the garden.'
