The Tented Room
I have lined my 'snoring room' in swathes of fabric to create a hugely effective tent effect, which has a really enticing feel.
- Striped fabric is the common choice for tented rooms, and they have an extraordinary atmosphere.
- Tented rooms make for great children's rooms, guest bedrooms or dressing rooms. Mine is a dressing room with a single bed in it. I nickname it 'the snoring room' as it's where snoring guests are banished.
- It is done by installing a curtain rail around the edge of the room and hanging fabric from this. The heading of the curtain is made neater with a pelmet, and mine is castellated. The fabric is then drawn together on the ceiling and perhaps accented with rope to help it feel like a tent.
- Behind the curtains is where all my wardrobes and drawers are.
