The Role of Beauty in Decoration
I am quite fascinated by beauty, and it's something I've been drawn to and in the pursuit of all my life.
My aim in my work is to create and give beauty to my clients; I often joke with people that I'm in the beauty business.
Beauty is deeply personal, and can be revealed to people in a myriad of ways - in a way, it's a communication with your soul. You can recognise it, but have never been taught to recognise it, and it feels deeply innate within us for that reason.
For me, I describe beauty as being something that resonates with you as soon as you see it. It can be found in the most humble of places and has the ability to be present in all things.
Interior design is about seeking out beauty by combining things pleasingly and creating harmony.

For more than three decades, Veere Grenney has shaped the landscape of international interior design with an eye for timeless elegance and a deep respect for tradition. Having begun his career under Mary Fox Linton, and later serving as a director at Colefax and Fowler, Veere went on to establish his own company in central London in 1996, one that continues to define the art of classic contemporary living.
His work has been consistently recognised at the very highest level with Veere holding a place in House and Garden’s Directory of 100 Leading Interior Designers for the past seven years, alongside being named one of Veranda’s ‘Magic Makers’ in 2013, and additionally is a proud member of Architectural Digests prestigious ‘Top 100’.
