A Tour of the Temple
The Guest Bedrooms
While I don't live here full time, I've always thought of The Temple as a place of restorative solace for myself and my guests.
- I first came to this house around the beginning of my design career, and it has always felt like a place of respite and restoration throughout the decades since.
- Known as 'the kennels', presumably because that's where dogs used to be kept, I reconfigured the original building into two separate units, each with their own front door and private bathroom; these have become the guest suites.
- One of the rooms has a charming Swedish four-poster bed, accompanied by two side tables, and the other has twin beds and a writing desk. Both rooms are covered in artwork and paintings by friends.
- Both are modestly furnished, but with exceptionally good mattresses and bed linen to guarantee a restful night's sleep.

For more than three decades, Veere Grenney has shaped the landscape of international interior design with an eye for timeless elegance and a deep respect for tradition. Having begun his career under Mary Fox Linton, and later serving as a director at Colefax and Fowler, Veere went on to establish his own company in central London in 1996, one that continues to define the art of classic contemporary living.
