A winter table arrangement.

From the Lesson Workbook

A Winter Table Arrangement

If you can, start planning your Christmas table from the colour of your table cloth to the flowers really early.

Don't make it formulaic, or it will lose its natural feel. Work out how many vases you want, then work out the flowers from there. Mistral anemones are the bigger more luxurious anemones, I recommend Hanoi Ranunculus.

My tip for making flowers open is to put them in the car and do a few laps. When using ranunculus and anemones you don't want to use too much water. If your flowers are drooping, a tip is to cut the bottoms, revive them in warm water and cover them in tissue paper or brown paper for two hours.

Varying heights of vases is very important and helps to make it look more natural.

You should keep your vases away from direct sunlight and radiators. When you buy ranunculus you need to really condition them, as if left unattended they can go.

For the Garland I Use:

  • Mistral anemones
  • Ranunculus
  • Anemones 'Frilly Knickers'
  • Paperwhite Narcissus
  • Ranunculus
  • Clematis
  • Hellebores
