Pricking Out Your Seeds
Pricking out the seed is simply transplanting it into a bigger pot. When transplanting, hold it by the top of the seeds. It is really key to label your various seeds.
Seedlings and seeds serve as great presents. Harvest seeds from flowers you've grown previously: it's very satisfying when in your second year you're growing from your own seed. I am crazy about Tellima Grandiflora.
Make a hole in the new pot and drop the seed all the way down so that the stem can be covered. You can make wigwam creations with canes, and sticks or buy them ready-made. You plant them, prop them in the soil in a round formation then spike them, joining them all with a piece of string. Here I use small terracotta pots.
