Changing the Weft Yarn Colour
At some point in your rag rug you may want to change colour midway through a row, which is a quick and easy technique.
Changing Colour Within a Row
STEP 1: Weave the existing colour to as far as you can or want to within the row, leaving a small excess, which can be pushed to the back of the loom.
STEP 2: Take the yarn in the new colour and insert it into your loom so that it overlaps the first colour on a couple of warp strings, again leaving a small excess at the start, which should be pushed through to the back of the loom.
STEP 3: Continue weaving, following the same sequence that the first colour started.
