Planning Your Warp & Weft
It can be really helpful to draw out a plan that shows where we are going to place the warp strings and weft yarns. This is especially true when we are using multiple colours.
Outline the Weaving Area
Using a pen and paper, sketch an outline of your frame and weaving area, then plan where to place the warp strings. If you're using multiple colours, use this diagram to mark which coloured yarns will go where.
On a separate piece of paper, sketch another outline of your frame and use this to plan how and where you will place the different weft yarns you are using to achieve the design you have in mind.
