Next, Maria takes you through the process of adding the weft rows and flattening the warp strings.
Next, we will add plain weave weft rows at the top and bottom of the loom to flatten the warp strings.
STEP 1: Turn your loom 90 degrees so that the bottom is resting on the table and secure it with the clamps.
STEP 2: Taking the same string you just used as your warp string, cut a length that measures just over five times the width of your entire loom and load it onto your shuttle.
STEP 3: Tie the end of the string to the side of your frame, roughly 3 inches from the bottom.
STEP 4: Weave it through the warp strings, going over and under until you reach the other side of the frame. Make sure the line is straight using your fingers to guide it down the warp strings. You may need to use a fork to push it down.
STEP 5: Loop the string over the edge of the frame and return the way you came, weaving the opposite way, under then over this time.
STEP 6: Repeat this process until you have around 5 rows.
STEP 7: Do the exact same thing at the top of the frame.
