Arthur leads you through the final steps needed to create spring decoupage, the importance of planning for pollinators, and how to visualise blooms from your garden plan.
Here we'll explore the final steps needed to create a spring decoupage, the importance of planning for pollinators, and how to visualise blooms from your garden plan.
Alliums serve as bankers, complementing all your garden plan's different plants.
Arthur doesn't just think about tulips as they don't have a lot of nectar. Many of the bulbs that flower before tulips are much better for bumblebees, honeybees and butterflies. Alliums, snake's-head fritillaries, 'Pheasant's Eye' narcissi, crocuses, irises, violas, hyacinths, irises and Muscari are all excellent early pollinator flowers. It is important to think about the bees' year and the flowering year.
Arthur writes down the varieties in the middle of the plan so he is reminded of all the main plants.
The banner at the top shows the combinations of flowers that will go all the way through the garden. Arthur likes to combine loads of alliums, which are great for seed heads and act as a banker.
