Arthur shows off his gorgeous summer wall, his take on a window box, and illustrates the importance of thrillers, fillers, and spillers.
Arthur's summer wall is my own version of having a window box. The bulb lasagne has all been taken out, and we've been left with the summer show. The plants and the combinations really show the good rules of container gardening and having thrillers, fillers, and spillers. This makes the whole thing look like a 3D combination of beauty.
The wall is in dappled shade, so rather than using sun-loving plants, he's opted for those that don't need as much sun. He has chosen ruby-reds, clarets, and lime green.

Named one of the most influential young UK gardeners by Architectural Digest, Arthur Parkinson is a gardener, florist and author with a penchant for growing flamboyant blooms and raising chickens. After studying horticulture at the Royal Botanical Gardens of Kew, Arthur went to work for plantswoman Sarah Raven at her farm in East Sussex to pursue his passion for growing cut flowers. He later became head gardener for the potter Emma Bridgewater, which inspired his first book, The Pottery Gardener.
