Wedding Flowers Part 2 - The Perfect Bouquet

A bouquet is made by mixing large flowers and filler flowers, which work in perfect harmony.

Lay the flowers out in families in front of you. To avoid any risk, don't use lilac at a wedding in the height of summer, as its likely to dry out!

Plan when the flowers you would like to use in the bouquet are going to be in flower. I would suggest holding your bouquet in front of a mirror to see how it looks from different angles. Have several trials when making a bridal bouquet.

The key is to have a variety of flower shapes and styles. Try to keep the really delicate flowers to the inside. I recommend cutting off shoots and buds off Scabiosa. Make sure to add flowers at different heights and keep twisting.

For This Spring Arrangement I Used:

  • Peonies
  • Lilac
  • Variegated pittosporum
  • Spirea
  • Carnations
  • Sweet peas
  • Spray roses
  • Delphiniums
  • Love-in-a-mist

If It's Summer You Could Use:

  • Pale pink and cream garden roses (try David Austin)
  • Mint leaf
  • Scented geranium
  • Chocolate cosmos
  • Jasmine
  • Sweet Peas

If It's Late Summer You Could Use:

  • Garden roses
  • Clematis
  • White Japanese anemones
  • Scented geranium leaf
  • Alchemilla mollis

If It's Autumn You Could Use:

  • Cafe au lait dahlias
  • Crocosmia berries
  • Rosehips
  • Rubus berries
  • Pale pink David Austin roses
  • Tuberose
  • Alchemilla mollis

If It's Winter You Could Use:

  • Paper whites
  • Cream ranunculus
  • Bupleurum
  • White hellebores
