Before the Renovation
It's really exciting to be able to bring you with me as I renovate my own home, and to show you how it plays out from beginning to end. My purpose is to evolve my home to work better for where I am in my life now, and I hope to inspire you to do the same.
An Ever-Changing Home
Through my own personal experience, I have come to appreciate just how fast the way you live can change - and it makes sense for your home to evolve and adapt as your needs and requirements shift.
My renovation is being guided by the three principles below, which I believe every home should deliver:
- Fun
Creating more social areas to have fun with friends and family.
- Comfort
Increasing functionality to make it more comfortable, and adding clever storage to make it a calmer place to live.
- Space
Getting the very most out of the space I have, and making sure each family member has some independent space to relax in.
I would always advise reassessing the space you do have, rather than moving. If you can reconfigure a layout or extend your property to achieve what you require, you can then channel the money you would have spent on moving into creating a bigger budget for the renovation.
