Scheming the Living Room and Hall

Depending on the scale of a renovation, it can take a surprisingly long time to get to the fun part of choosing fabrics and paint colours - and when you do get there, it can feel quite overwhelming. In this lesson, I'll show you how I began to select fabrics for my living room and hall.

Tips for Building a Scheme

  • In every room, there tends to be a hero fabric that acts as the springboard to everything else.
  • Pull out colours within this hero fabric, and try to find fabrics that match these for a complementary combination.
  • Try not to shoehorn things in just because you love them; they may not be right for this particular scheme but you can use them elsewhere.
