For me, these are little flourishes that won't break the bank but will go a long way to making the experience of using a home feel special and luxurious.

Small Luxuries

• I like to have a summer duvet in a lighter tog and a winter duvet in a heavier tog and prefer crisp linen bedding.
• Consider thoughtfully placed hooks in and around the bathroom for towels and robes.
• Place the shower controls in a place where you can operate them easily before getting in the shower and getting wet.
• A crystal water jug and glass beside the bed is always a lovely touch.
• Have books on display that are about the local area, such as walking routes, nice towns to visit or about the local history.
• Beautiful tissue boxes dotted around the home are a perfect example of balancing form with function.
