Pillar 1 - The Design Team

The first pillar of our business is the design team, which incorporates a number of roles and responsibilities.

The Design Team

• Our design team comprises interior architects, FF&E designers, art specialists, graphic designers and an in-house stylist.
• Interior architects will design and produce technical drawings detailing all of the architectural elements.
• FF&E designers are responsible for all the loose elements within a design scheme. At Sims Hilditch, this means having a keen eye for sourcing antiques, as this is a strong part of our design style.
• Art specialists have a background in fine art and have the expertise to source beautiful pieces for our clients.
• Graphic designers are brilliant for ensuring the client experience is visually cohesive, designing the client presentations as well as working with marketing on branding.
• Our in-house stylist ensures that all the photography of our projects is beautifully styled, and they also look after our design library of samples and swatches.
• We have two design islands within our studio that were designed purposefully to have skylights above that provide constant north light, as it is so important to see colours and samples in a neutral natural light when designing.
• In order to design to the best of our ability, we keep a very organised design library which is separated into two rooms. The first houses all of the soft finishes, such as textiles, fabrics, carpet and rug samples. The second is home to all the hard finish samples, including tiles, marbles, flooring and architectural details.
