If your design has any concave curves, you will need to approach these in a slightly different way.

Part 15- Concave Section

If your design has any concave curves, you will need to approach these in a slightly different way.

  1. The deeper the concave curves, the more you will have to pull and manipulate the fabric. Too much excess fabric can make this more difficult, so you may want to trim some away.
  1. Concave sections are approached in a similar way to angles; use fabric scissors to cut incisions to open the fabric up and make it easier to pull down into the curve. The more severe the curve, the closer together your cuts will need to be.
  1. Work down the concave curve in small sections, securing with permanent staples along the way.
  1. While you'll be removing the temporary staples as you go, you may find you need to release temporary staples in other areas of the headboard to achieve the correct tension for the section you're working on.
  1. If you are left with any creases, it's always easier to sort these out by pulling the bottom edge or sides tighter.
  1. Repeat for all concave sections.
