Being organised in the first instance will give you the best chance of upholstering your chair successfully.
- We want to keep the old fabric cover to use as a template, so it needs to be kept intact and a record made of where each piece goes.
- It's worth taking lots of pictures as you're stripping the cover back, to help you remember how to put it back together again.
- Be sure to label with a Sharpie or tailor's chalk what each piece is and where it goes.
- It's also a good idea to mark where important edges, joins and meeting points are. This will not only make the assembly process easier, but if you have a patterned fabric, these markings will also help you position the pattern accordingly.
