Part 22 - Stitching the Chair
To neatly finish your outside back, you will need to hand stitch.
- Take your curved needle, feed the thread through so it's doubled up and knot at the end of your thread to secure.
- Begin the invisible stitch by pushing the needle from the back of the fabric through the front of your back piece.
- Push the needle into your inside back piece fabric and push it through to catch your outside back fabric to sew together. Rather than sewing right on the edge of the fabric, you want to sew ever so slightly inside the seam allowance so your stitch isn't visible – this technique is called 'an invisible stitch'.
- Use this stitch all the way down both sides. To finish off the stitch, knot the thread three times and cut once you're sure it's secure.
